Rahul Ghandi in Lok Sabha : Agnipath scheme has robbed the financial situation and respect of the country’s soilders

On july 29, Rahul Gandhi has claimed in the Parliament that the scheme Agnipath started by the ruling government has robbed the financial situation and respect of the country’s soilders. This scheme is harshly Criticized by the opposition party which led to the debate between Rahul Gandhi and union minister Rajnath Singh in the Lok Sabha. The Minister Clearly, mentioned that; the opposition party is spreading the misinformation among the people of the country.

After the presentation of the Budget2024 by FM Nirmala Sitharaman, Rahul Gandhi confidentally claimed in his speech that, the Agnipath scheme is totally a scam which has robbed the Indian soldiers and their families, putting emphasize on the absence of pasion to the soilders. He mentioned that, the scheme exposes the government’s “anti-youth and anti-farmer” leanings. Defence Minister over this speech stated that, Mr Ghandi had disseminated many misunderstandings about the budget, and that would be brefily clarify by the Finance minister in her upcoming speech.

Rahul Gandhi further said, “One Agniveer lost his life in a landmine blast, but he is not recognised as a martyr’. I consider him a martyr, but the government of India does not. PM Modi does not call him a martyr – he refers to him as an Agniveer. His family will not receive pension or compensation. The Agnipath scheme treats them as expendable, like a labourer,” on this statement Defence Minister said Mr Ghandi was spreading the false information and misleading the house and clarified that the Agniveer’s who had sacrificed their life while serving to the nation their families had received the financing support of 1 crore.

Moreover, Rahul Ghandi make a reference of a case of Agniveer Ajay Kumar who martyred while serving to the nation, his father video got viral in which he claimed that the family had not received the money yet from the Central Government. As per the information Ajay’s father told NDtv that, he had demanded the hero status for his son, but received few amount of compensation only. He said, “We want the Agniveer scheme to be scrapped and we should get pension and canteen card,”.

These debates between opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led to the serious issue that become the matter of discussion. With the parliamentary panel earlier recommending that family of the Agniveers who sacrificed for the nation their families should receive benefits that equally provided to the families of regular military personnel.
