Pezeshkain won the presidential election in Iran: “Will there would be a change in Foreign Policy between Iran and India”?

As The presidential Elections held in Iran, Masoud Pezeshkain got the magnificent victory defeating Hardliner Saeed Jalili, Pezeshkain is known as the cardiac surgeon and a seasoned lawmaker and also engaged with domestic and international reforms in Iran.

Pezeshkain win is marked as the upcoming change,as it gives the reason for general unhappiness with the strict policies of his predecessors. On the other hand Hardliners have the control in the majority but the authority is still in the hand of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will put Pezeshkain on the test to know his ability to rule and to check his vision.

Further we know that India and Iran have historically strong economic ties. Under Pezeshkain these ties are more likely to deepen.
Iran’s ambassador Iraj Elahi, said to Inda that: “Today, we are holding the second round of the presidential election. More than 700 polling centres are accepting the vote of Iranians. We hope that by tomorrow morning we will have a new president. There will be no changes in Iranian foreign policy and internal policy. Both discourses emphasise strengthening Iranian power internally and externally”. He mentioned.

Project “Chabahar Port” on which India has committed heavy investments will be focused by the both countries, as it is an important transaction point for trade with Afghanistan and Central Asia, bypassing Pakistan. India has given the $120 million for the development of the Shahid- Beheshti port terminal and moreover offered $250 million credit line for the infrastructure projects in Iran. Further there is a cooperation between India and Iran of International North- South transport corridor, a transportation route connecting India to Russia by way of Iran. This corridor increase the connectivity in terms of trade and bilateral ties for regional stability.
