Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, invoked a social media post on thursday that says to annihilate Iran. Following this statement, trumps security has increased due to reported Iranian threats against him.
“If they do ‘assassinate President Trump,’ which is always a possibility, I hope that America obliterates Iran, wipes it off the face of the Earth – If that does not happen, American Leaders will be considered ‘gutless’ cowards!” wrote Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social.
He posted these comments and a video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussing alleged plots against Trump during his speech to the us Congress.
From last week’s reports, the US secret service had increased the security of Trump after learning about an Iranian assassination plot. This report is taken from a ‘human source’, says CNN. However, it is not connected to the recent shooting that happened at a campaign rally.
That shooting happened at Butler, Pennsylvania, where the shooter named Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots, injuries trump, and killed an attendee of the rally.
Tension between Iran and the US has been long-standing and increasing since the killing of the Qasem soleimani, commander of Iran’s revolutionary guards, by an action done by Trump during his presidency
Trump’s recent posts are similar to the post he did in 2019, where he threatened Iran with ‘obliteration’ if it attacked American citizens.
This came after Iranian officials said that diplomatic differences between the countries are severe because of sanctions imposed by Trump himself.
