On Thursday, 25 July, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert in pune as the heavy rainfall caused destruction in pune and its surrounding regions. Collector Suhas Diwase ordered that schools in pune City had been remaining closed and the order to shut the schools further extended to Bhor, Velhe, Pimpri Chinchwad, Maval Mulshi, and Khadakwasla

Diwase also ordered that all tourist places should remain closed, and the same order will be followed by the private offices and industrial units. Further as per the officials, the main source of water that supply water for Pimpri- Chinchwad, Pavan Dam had been filled upto 58% of its capacity on Wednesday afternoon because of the continue rain in Maval Taluka of Pune district.

According to the report of officials, around 160 people are stuck inside houses and buildings on low laying areas due to waterlogging being rescued by the fire brigade team. So far, four deaths have been reported in the rain related incidents. Three people are died due to electric current running through water during the heavy downpour at Pulachi Wadi in the Deccan Gymkhana area, and one person died,one got injured in a landslide, as the heavy rock slid and fall down over the road in Adarwadi village in Maval Tehsil, problem and incidents are rapidly increasing as heavy downpour continued in Pune.
