Conservative party vs labour party; Uk general election update 2024

The United Kingdom heads for general election on 4th July 2024. The election has witnessed the strong fight between the ruling conservative party and the opposition labour party.

As the election result announced today on 5th July 2024, the labour party secured the highest number of votes which led to the historic defeat for the Conservative party. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak left Buckingham palace after resigning as Britain’s Prime Minister accepting his defeat.

After sunak resignation, labour leader Keir Starmer has been invited by king Charles to form a new government, after getting the magnificent election victory. Britain’s Labour party led by Keir Starmer has won 412 seats and crossed the majority mark of 326 seats to form the government.

Conservative Party- 120

Labour Party -412

Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) -9

Others -35

The poll released just after when the voting ended suggested that center left labour party leader Keir Starmer would be the next Prime Minister. He will face the increasing unworthiness in institutions, an electoral eager for changing amid economic struggles.

Keir Starmer entered downing street for the first time as UK minister, after the general elections securing the highest seats and ended the 14 years of conservative rule under Rishi Sunak. Keir interacted with the reporters and mentioned about the immediate action to restore the country’s Fortunes: “The work of changes begins certainly. We will rebuild Britain Brick by Brick,” he declared.
